SIBERIAN CATS
The Siberian Cats also play an important role here on the farm. With 2 severe allergy sufferers in the family, there would be no cats if we did not have hypo-allergenic available. We started to breed Siberians in 2011 by importing cats from Russia, Czech Republic, flying over to Germany and driving to Poland and The Netherlands and bringing them back on the plane with us. There are a lot of pictures on the web if you google RocKaRan Siberian cats and look at the images you will see pictures of kittens over the years. We no longer post our adults after 2 families thought their kitten should look like the adult parent. It is too much of a hassle to deal with expectations.......you get the kitten you have chosen not the parent, nor will it look like the parent in most cases. We have tested over a dozen of our cats for FELD-1 levels and no longer do testing. A normal domestic cat FELD-1 levels can be anywhere from 800-2,000 depending on the cat. Our lowest tested cat was 7.44 and the highest was 59. To us it makes no sense to spend $495 to test a kittens feld-1 levels if you do not know what level you can tolerate! Some myths I would like to discount after 13 plus years of experience: A female is not always lower than a male and color typically does not make a difference other than SILVER and RED colored cats ADD an additional protein to the cats that some cannot tolerate.
